It used to be those blessed with twins had to con a friend or relative into pushing a second buggy around the park on a summer day to get out of the house, but no more. Due to the rise and rise of multiple births, the majority of pushchair manufacturers now produce double and even triple versions of their most popular prams.

Twin pushchairs are available in a variety of styles – but it is important to consider the size of your chosen push chair when it’s folded as well as in use. Some twin pushchairs are designed so that two similarly sized children sit side by side and others are made so the children sit one in front of the other. A side-by-side pushchair for twins is less likely to fit through the door of your favourite corner shop or boutique, and a tandem pram is more difficult to manoeuvre around corners. A fairly recent innovation in the twin pram world allows a larger child to sit behind and slightly lower than an infant – this makes for a more manageable twin pushchair. The most important consideration when it comes to the size of your twin pushchair is whether it will fit in your car – there’s little point finding your perfect pushchair if you can’t take it out with you.
