During the cold, wet winter, there’s little more important than keeping baby warm and cosy while you’re on the go. One of the most popular accessories for pushchairs is a footmuff. More often than not, pushchairs come with an integral foot muff that can be removed in warmer weather.
Integrated foot muffs, also known as cosytoes and snugglesacks, typically attach to your pushchair through the safety harness. This allows your baby to sit comfortably wrapped in the insulating fabric whatever the weather and road hold in store. Many travel systems have footmuffs that will attach over the top of the car seat, allowing you to move your precious cargo from the house to the car and then on to the shops without risking a draft.
Footmuffs are available in a wide selection of fabrics, colours and materials to suit virtually any requirement. Some foot muffs are designed to only cover the legs, while those intended for smaller babies are often more like little sleeping bags – zipping right the way around like tiny cocoons. Some foot muffs are compatible with virtually any buggy, particularly those designed to work with your pushchair’s integral five-point safety harness. It’s best to choose a footmuff made from machine-washable material that will dry quickly and has at least some degree of water resistance.
