Buggy Boards

One of the most popular after-market pushchair accessories is a buggy board. Buggyboards are useful when you have a toddler and a baby, particularly if you don’t want a twin pushchair or the age gap between your children makes this impractical. A buggy board attaches to the back of your pram or pushchair, allowing your small child to hop on and off the board when his little legs have had enough walking.

Some buggyboards have additional features – the Litaf buggyboards, for example, are available with a step so your older child has somewhere to sit while you’re relaxing in the park. Some manufacturers advise against the use of buggy boards as they feel the boards may damage the pushchair – check the documents that come with your pushchair to be sure using a buggyboard doesn’t invalidate the warranty covering your pushchair. Other manufacturers, such as Jane and Graco make bespoke buggy boards compatible with their pushchairs – this way you can have the convenience and functionality of a bugyboard without worrying about damaging your pram or violating the terms of your warranty.

An alternative to buggy boards, which is suitable only for smaller toddlers, is the Revelo Buggypod. A buggypod clips to the side of the pushchair frame, and has an easily-attachable wheel for added stability. A variety of accessories for Buggypods are also available.

Buying a buggyboard online is easy – virtually every online pushchair retailer carries at least one style and make of buggy board. Be sure to check with the retailer whether the buggyboard you’re buying is compatible with your pushchair to avoid disappointment. Sometimes, retailers will give you a substantial discount on pushchair accessories purchased at the same time as your pram. Look for shipping discounts, and beware of hidden charges for handling oversized items or multiple items within the same shipment as these can erode your savings when shopping online.
